1 - Reflection on Previous I Search Experiences- Sunday, April 6th, 2008 -Entry 1
1. What are some of the previous research projects you have done?
  • I have done research on the Louisiana cattle festival, Martin Luther King jr, Beyond Hammurabi, Presidential Caucasses, and labyrinths.

2. Based on these projects, what does research mean to you?
  • To me, research is looking through many sources such as books, computer sites, encyclopedia's, eccetera to find out about a topic or event that you are planning to know or be informed with more.

3. Describe one of your research successes or failures. Why was the experience positive or negative?
  • My research on the Louisiana Cattle festival was succesful because I found out information on my topic and got a good grade.

2 - Reflection on Webbing Process -Monday, April 7th, 2008- Entry 2
1. I think the webbing process helped/did not help me find a topic because:
  • I think that the webbing process helped me because I really wasn't sure what to do my topic on. I brainstormed some ideas, but when I went to search them I realized some topics were good and others were bad. That narrowed down my choices to find the best topic to search and the topic that was most interesting to me.

3 - Why I Chose This Topic and What I Know About My Topic- Monday, April 7th, 2008- Entry 3
1. Topic: Orville and Wilbur Wrght's First Flight
2. Why you chose it: I never really knew about their flight and have been interested to learn more about it since I saw their plane in Washington DC's Air and Space museum. I also know that flying a plane referres to bernoulli's principle, which we learned in Science.
3. What you already know about your topic: I know that Orville and Wilbur Wright were the first one's to fly an airplane.

4 - Pre-Notetaking Activity - Tuesday, April 8th, 2008- Entry 4 1. Brainstorm a list of questions related to your topic.
  • Childhood- Where were the Wright Brothers born? Who are there siblings if they have any? What were their interests or hobbies? What were their personalities like as children?
  • Flying- Why do they like flying? Why did they do everything together? Dod they have doubters who never thought that they could fly? How many failures did they have until they succedded? Who gave them support and courage to help them with their flight? Did they travel further distances after their first success? Where did the flight take place?

5 - Reflections on Pre-Notetaking - Tuesday, April 8th, 2008- Entry 5
1. Describe how the pre-notetaking sheet helped you find both focus for your topic and research questions to investigate. Did you find it easy or difficult to create a fat question from your ideas?
  • At first I was wondering what a Fat question was. We then did the first activity, which helped me understand short questions and that a Fat question was a question that summed up all of the short questions. I then wrote down my Ideas, which helped me find a Fat question. It took a little while until i got one, but it's good.

6 - Search Log- Wednesday, April 9th, 2008- Entry 6
1. What have I learned today?
  • Since I had a doctor's appointment today, I didn't get to find much about the Wright Brothers because my class time was shortened, but I found out their siblings. They had 2 brothers and 1 sister. I also learned that the flight took place in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.

2. What problems have I had?
  • I did not have any problems today rather than my limited search time.

  • I did not have any problems today.

4. What will I do next?
  • Next, I am goint to find what the Wright brothers were like in their childhood and see if any of the information had to deal with their invention of the plane.
